Your “Yes” Can Change the World

Written by Sara | February 01, 2024

“A single grain of rice can tip the scale. One man may be the difference between victory and defeat.”

If you are a passionate Disney fan like me, you will recognize this quote right away.

You guessed it. It’s from the movie Mulan, and to give you a little bit of a background, the Emperor of China made this bold statement to his advisors making sure that no one is excluded from that war because as he said “one man” can change everything, and later in the movie we find out that this “single grain of rice” was actually Mulan and she saved everyone.

What does this have to do with anything? Let me tell you.

Being a Christian is great, having a relationship with God and doing life with Him is amazing.

But have you ever thought that you could be like that "single grain of rice" that tips everything in God’s plan for the world?

What if God wants to use you to change the world?

This is a really cool dream, right? Well... I’m here to tell you that this is a fact. God is inviting all of us, yes you too, into His big story. He wants to do something big in your life and through your life. He wants to use you to change everything.

You don't need a passport to be a missionary because your mission field is wherever you are – our school, home, neighbourhood – you name it. God wants to use you right there. Just be available, say yes, and watch how even the simplest acts can testify to God's goodness.

Changing the world can be as simple as saying "yes" because, like Mulan's grain of rice, your "yes" can change the world.

Your “Yes” Can Change the World

It's not just a bold statement; it's a fact. "You are the salt of the earth" and "you are the light of the world." (Matthew 5:13-14) When God wants to light up a dark place, He shines through YOU. You're His light.

So, here's the challenge:

Change the world. Start by giving God everything and ask Him where to start. Live your life like an ambassador, a light that shines God’s goodness. And “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” (1 Peter 3:15) Because your response might be the reason someone will see Jesus, you might be the answer they've been waiting for.

If a single grain of rice tipped the scale, your "yes" can change the world. Be the game-changer ✨🌟
