I’ve met so many people who think DTS only happens in one place… usually Kona, Hawaii. But here’s the wild thing: DTS is literally everywhere.
Europe? Germany, France, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands…
Oceania? Australia, New Zealand, Fiji…
Asia? Thailand, Japan, Pakistan, Mongolia, the Philippines, South Korea, Cambodia, India…
Africa? Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria…
The Americas? USA, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina… and yes, Hawaii.
Seriously, wherever you dream of going, there’s probably a YWAM base there. Some locations aren’t even listed online for security reasons because they’re in sensitive regions, but the point is: you’ve got options.
Every DTS has the same goal: to know God and make Him known. But the style can look a little different. Some DTS programs focus on worship, media, or justice (in Nuremberg we do this through tracks).
Other DTSs are built for specific seasons of life, like Crossroads DTS for those 30+, Family DTS for parents and kids together, or even a 50+ DTS for after retirement. So wherever you’re at in life, there’s a place that fits you.
A few things to think about as you pray and plan:
Where you go can shape your experience, but it’s not the main thing. God moves in small towns and big cities, in your own country and across the world.
Some people grow most by stepping out of their comfort zone, others by discovering how God is already working right where they are. DTS isn’t about the location, it’s about the transformation. The best place to be is where God is calling you.
The easiest way to explore all the DTSs is on YWAM.org You can search by country, language, or start date.
You can also check out the websites of specific YWAM bases, talk to friends who’ve done DTS, or connect with YWAM bases through social media.
Whether you start in Germany, New Zealand, or Ohio, God can use that yes to send you further than you ever imagined. The place you start isn’t the limit — DTS is the launchpad into the nations.
