As true followers of Jesus, we're called to emulate His teachings and live out the principles of discipleship in our everyday lives. By integrating these principles into our thoughts, actions, and relationships, we can experience personal growth, deepen our faith, and positively impact the world around us. It's not just about going to a [Discipleship Training School](https://www.ywamnuremberg.com/blog/what-is-a-ywam-dts?hsLang=en) (DTS) for 6 months (though that's rad too!), but also about bringing that Jesus vibe to our daily grind. Here are a few thoughts on how you can live out your discipleship to Jesus like a boss every single day. 1. Embrace the Teachings of Jesus: The core of Christian discipleship lies in understanding and applying the teachings of Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate Jedi Master, and we're like Padawan learners trying to follow in His footsteps. Get yourself connected with a crew of like-minded Jesus followers and make Jesus-centered stuff part of your day-to-day routine. It's like having a Jesus filter for everything, ya know? 2. Cultivate a Life of Prayer: Yeah, prayer can feel a bit meh sometimes, but it's a total game-changer. It's how we connect with God, get guidance, and let Him work in us and through us. So, make prayer a regular thing, even if it's not the flashiest or most exciting activity in your day. 3. Practice Servanthood: If we're gonna imitate Jesus, we have to get into the whole serving thing too. Jesus didn't come to be served, but to serve (Matthew 20:28). And that's the vibe we should be rocking too. You can serve in many ways: volunteering, getting involved with community outreach projects, or serving in your church...but it also looks like serving people that you encounter on a day-to-day basis. Serving your neighbor, your family, or the strangers you encounter. 4. Foster Authentic Community: Discipleship thrives in the context of genuine community. Building real relationships with other Jesus-loving people is where it's at. We can help each other out with support, encouragement, and accountability in our faith journeys. No one was meant to follow Jesus alone. Participating in regular fellowship, joining small groups, and actively engaging with your local church community *(maybe you need to join a church!)* are key ways of practicing community. Don't only look for programs to join, but go out there and get involved in the lives of others! Community is about doing life together WITH other believers. Maybe your first step is cooking a meal and inviting some others over for dinner. 5. Be a Witness through Words and Action: Actions speak louder than words, but let's not forget that words can be pretty powerful too. Jesus preached about God's kingdom and walked the talk, so don't be shy to share your own experiences and stories about what God is doing in your life. You've got a story to tell, my friend, so go out there and spread the Good News! Discipleship to Jesus is all about living it up in real life, not just talking about it. As you embrace and practice the teachings of Jesus, cultivate a life of prayer, practice servanthood, foster authentic relationships, and are a witness through actions and words, you'll be taking your discipleship game to the next level.
