2017/18 Annual Report

2017/18 Annual Report

Four years ago a team of 18 young people packed up their lives and relocated to Nuremberg, Germany to pioneer the first YWAM base in the city, carrying a vision to see the next wave of missionaries launched into the nations. This original team of YWAMers slept on floors, met in noisy cafes, biked to the industrial district for office work, and scraped, chipped and sanded away an old furniture store into a new cafe and studio space, laying a foundation for what was to follow. Over the last few years several hundred missionaries received training, while thousands heard the gospel either within the city or abroad.

Whatever your involvement has been, we want to thank you. Whether you have prayed for us, invested into someone on staff, sent a member of your church to do a DTS, or even unintentionally prayed for us as you ask that God's Kingdom would increase on earth, we say thank you. We don't work on our own, but rather God calls us to be a part of a greater whole, the Body of Christ, living out the Kingdom. In this book, we celebrate what God has done in and through us this past year. As you read through these reports, we invite you to celebrate with us, and we pray you will be encouraged. Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost. As we reflect on the last fiscal year and step into the next. We pray God continues to seek, to save and to draw near those who don't yet know Him.

What Happened in 2017/18

  • YWAM Nuremberg rented its first permanent missionary training facility in Nuremberg, capable of housing 40 people.
  • Missionaries sent out by YWAM Nuremberg gave 60,000 hours of direct ministry service. 47,674 of these hours were spent serving and ministering to people in the unreached and unengaged regions of the world.
  • YWAM missionaries ministered to 26,502 people and directly shared the gospel with 6,407 people. 553 people made a personal decision to follow Jesus.

Skate Ministry

Skateboarding is huge and has little to no Christian presence.

We saw local skaters, who only knew of Christianity as a religion, come face-to-face with Jesus who loves them! We want to see skateboarders become disciple makers.

Bibel Projekt

In 2017, we were given 100,000 copies of the Gospel of John. And already 13,000 of those have been received by people in Nuremberg. We will continue sharing these Gospels of John until we are down to zero.

Pray with us that our neighbors all over Nuremberg will meet Jesus!

Wonderland Creative Studios

As a team of international artists and creative people, we wanted to bring something new to the Südstadt of Nürnberg.

Through hosting or offering Wonderland as an events venue, we served the local body of Christ by providing space for worship nights and small groups. By hosting concerts for Christian musicians and spoken word artists, we reach out to our city with the Gospel in creative ways.

God has called us to train, equip, and launch missionaries out into all the world, to every tribe and tongue. The Gospel must be preached in action and in truth, the church readied to grow and go. There we have our mission: to know God and make Him known. We can't get there on our own. So we invite you to be a part of the movement. Let's bring the Gospel to new horizons, let's see discipleship on a new level, let's glorify God and advance His Kingdom.
